Issue with applicants to Apply for Care ID not receiving text link

We are aware of an error where applicants to Apply for Care ID are not receiving their text link in order to continue their application.

Restarting your mobile device may help resolve the issue.

Waiting list information in the NHS App 

From 30 January 2024, the NHS App will show patients in England an estimated waiting time for their hospital treatment at the NHS acute trust they’ve been referred to.

REMINDER: how you unlock smartcards is changing on 31 January 2024

From 8:30pm on 31 January 2024 you will no longer be able to unlock smartcards in the old Care Identity Service application.

Updates to VMP ‘<Drug Form>’ coded attribute in dm+d – Phase 2

We are updating NHS dm+d ‘<DRUG_FORM>’ coded attribute within the Virtual Medicinal Product concept class to contain more detail and more closely align with international standards.

The following drug form changes (Phase 2) are due to take place in the first quarter of 2024:

  • implant 
  • implantation suspension 
  • irrigation 
  • irrigation solution 
  • liquid 
  • powder

SNOMED clinical terminology users: Share your views on further proposed changes

Do you use the SNOMED CT Navigational concept hierarchy?

A briefing paper regarding the inactivation of the Navigational concept hierarchy can be found on Delen

There are a number of Navigational concepts in high use in the UK. In order to impact assess how stakeholders use the concepts in this hierarchy and to help inform discussions about possible replacement concepts, we are seeking feedback via information.standards@nhs.net by 31 January 2024.

Drop-in sessions for unlockers using Care Identity Management

Care Identity Management (CIM) is replacing the Care Identity Service application. As part of this work, we are switching off certain features in the old service, and only making them available in the new service.

The first feature to be switched off is Smartcard Unlocking.

On 31 January, all smartcard unlocking must be done in Care Identity Management or the new Self Service Unlock.

Drop-in sessions

We’re running informal online sessions for smartcard unlockers and anyone else who wants to know more about Care Identity Management (CIM). You are welcome to attend any or all sessions, and share with your colleagues.

The first half of the session will be to show how to use CIM to unlock. The second part will cover any other questions about CIM or troubleshooting any problems.
